Magical Self Care

Some of these tips, okay who am I kidding, All of these steps go along with my New Year, New Intentions post from January. Out with the old, in with the positive new! Such as, lists aka intentions! I am a big lists person, but not so great on the follow through. Rid myself of distractions, I need to dedicate myself to my goals!! I believe these may help to get me on a more positive path and not always start my day knowing it will be a negative one.

  1. Don’t check your phone! When I do, I am instantly bombarded by other people’s drama, emotions, opinions, etc. I understand wanting to check your phone for important things, and if that’s the case then bypass this, but not if it sets the whole tone to your day. I try to avoid this, I don’t need to know how many people haven’t showed up for work, or what type of day it has been, before I wake up completely. I am bad at this and really need to work on it!

  2. Do something that makes you feel good. What’s one thing that makes you excited to get out of bed every morning? Nothing huge or super significant just a small enticer that starts you off in a good mood. Even if you don’t have a lot of time in the morning, there are small things you probably enjoy that you can incorporate into your daily morning ritual. Stretching, coffee or a cup of warm tea, listening to inspiring music, etc. If it makes you feel good–do it. I wonder if going back to bed counts?

3. Align yourself. There are many ways you can align with yourself in the morning one is to write down how you want to feel and what you’d like to accomplish. Taking a small amount of time to simply write down how you want to feel, what you want to accomplish, what you’re grateful for, and take time for a few deep breaths.
4. Visualize your day. Visualize how a perfect day would look for you. After writing down your intentions in the morning, this is made easier because you have an idea of how you want your day to look. Picture yourself walking into your kitchen, preparing for your day. See and feel everything, even the floor under your feet. Here are some things you could visualize to manifest a positive and magical day:
  • getting exciting news

  • driving your dream car or taking a dream trip

  • hugging your children/spouse/friend

  • being complimented

  • joyful exchanges with others

  • feeling strong and healthy in your body

When you take a few minutes to visualize your day, you actually attract the circumstances, resources and people that will help that vision come to life. Doing this daily is said to bring everything big and small that you desire will inch its way closer into your reality.

5. Consume inspiration. If you’re a reader, read a few pages out of an inspirational book. If you’re an audio type of person, listen to an inspirational podcast. This is important, we can become stuck in our current “realities”, only to repeat them over and over, day in and day out. The trick to manifesting success, however you define that, is to bring yourself out of your current viewpoint. One thing I definitely need to work on! Does the term “stuck in a rut” come to mind? It seems to be coming to me more frequently, I need to make several changes in order to save my sanity!

~Please remember these are not my ideas, just a collection of ideas from reading.
