Summer Fun
Wow it has been a while since I posted. It has also been a busy 3 months!! Now that the weather and season have changed, I thought it would be a good time to fill you in on my happenings.
Most of my free time has been spent down at the lake. You know the normal stuff - meeting the neighbors, cleaning up the yard, remodeling the cabin, and a little time out on the lake actually enjoying it.
Then I had no choice but to throw 3 baby showers in the mix, as well as welcoming 3 new grand babies!! All are happy and healthy, mom's and dad's are good other then probably loosing a lot of sleep...lol. Did I mention they were all born within the same week!!!!
In the mean time I had an Artist in Residency at the Missouri State Fair. A whole 5 days of making beads, talking about why I love glass, and demonstrating. I even made the front page of the local paper. YIKES! was my response, if you know anything about me, you know how I dislike my picture taken, and talking about myself. That was very stressful, but it ended up being a lot of fun. If you would like to read the article it is located here: https://www.sedaliademocrat.com/news/missouri-state-fair-artist-mary-bush-fires-up-demonstrations/article_76bb5303-2ebc-5435-a646-61966078feca.html
After the fair I think I pretty much burnt myself out on making beads, there sure hasn't been a lot going on it my little bead world. I am starting, slowly, to make some new beads. I hope I can keep the momentum up, hope.... Here are a few of my newest beads:
Other things I have been doing trying to keep busy are crocheting, alcohol inks, and acrylic pours. I did a few of the acrylic pours last night - not completely happy with them, think I may try again tonight...lol Here are some random pictures.
This is a triangle scarf. I made it after my friend Amy shared what was on her project list. I love how the variegated skein worked up in this piece. I used lion brand color waves, but can not remember the actual name.
A few acrylic pours, mostly in blues, I am working on a water theme. These are not complete, they are still wet. I still need to clear coat them. Dirty pours, and one swipe method.
Of course there has been some photography in the mix as well. You know I can't go without posting a few floral images.
Hopefully I will be back soon with some more new goodies!
